I’ve been absent for a bit, haven’t I?
Well. Let me update ya! (Yes, I certainly sang that like the Chris Brown jam we used to blast our senior year of high school)
It is week three of my Fit Body Journey! It’s been fun. And hard. But fun. I feel great! Okay, that’s a lie, today I feel awful, but it’s because I made the basic girl mistake of trading my healthy, yummy dinner for popcorn and wine… I’m weak!! But when I stick to my routine I feel great, you guys, for real. The food this week & next are so good! I made a couple modifications for my dinners, and I personally like them much better. I’ll let you in on those secrets later! For now, let me tell you how working out has been…
Eesh. Okay, so you’ve heard my story about my 200 lunges. Well, that + ice skating the weekend after definitely pulled my quads or something because doing lunges A WEEK after the 200+ shot pain right up my thigh that felt like a hot knife was slicing through my leg! Therefore, I cut lunges out of the glutes/leg day. Which is awful, I don’t feel like I was able to make any progress the first two weeks 🙁 but I’m better this week! At least in my legs. NOW my tail bone is killing me, I can’t do sit ups because it puts way too much pressure on my tailbone and I die! I know, I know, these sound like BS excuses, but I pinky promise, I’m not lying! I want to do the best I can to get myself as healthy and strong as possible, but sometimes your body just doesn’t want to cooperate. So, I’ve found ab work outs that do not require crunches to do after my runs.
Here’s a tip: If you have a small dog, do not take them on your LISS!! I keep trying to take Jo with me because I mainly just speed walk, nothing too difficult and I know he doesn’t like being cooped up inside all day, but MY OH MY! He stops at least 20 times to sniff, or do his business. AND THEN YA GOTTA CARRY AROUND THOSE BAGS! Ugh. Sorry lil buddy, you have to stay home. Although, he does like to jog with me, which is ADORABLE! He does a great job keeping up, for about 30 seconds. And then he climbs all over me while I’m doing my ab workouts. He just wants to get healthy, too!!
These are my favorite workout outfits! I have two pairs of leggings for running, but my favorite are definitely my Zella Live In Leggings, they are fantastic and come up above your hips to smooth out your tummy! They’re also thick enough not to show your bum, and we all know how horrible that is… My white sweatshirt is also Zella, I love it, especially the thumb holes! You can find Zella at Nordstrom, little secret — a lot of the brand goes on sale during anniversary! But really they’re not too spendy, and they’re certainly worth every penny. Plus, I guarantee you will live in those leggings, ha ha! I also really want these bad boys! My rain jacket has been in my life since I started running a few years ago, it’s held up very well and I got it from REI, it’s Brooks and I am quite fond of it, especially how bright it is. I feel invincible in it, even when I’m running at night! These Knits are new and I think I love them more than my boyfriend… Don’t worry, he knows. They are fantastic!! They feel like you’re not even wearing anything on your feet when you’re running, nothing wearing you down! And they are SO cute!! I would 100% recommend them, but I would ALSO advise you to find someone who has a Nike Employee past since they are half the price at the employee store!
I’m definitely planning on posting my final thoughts and tips — I’ve already got some good ones — when I’ve completed the 12 weeks of Anna Victoria’s Guides! I’m also definitely going to keep using these meals throughout my life even when everything is over. I love, love, love how everything tastes, there is so much flavor!! I’ll be posting a lot throughout the journey, as well, so you can follow along! I would love to hear your fit body journey as well!
